No. Mulch removal incurs a fee of 50% of the stump grinding cost per size. Many people choose to use the mulch in their gardens – as it can do wonders for vegetable and flower growth.

After the stump grinding, we will cover the area with 6 inches of soil and mulch. This is great to plant sod. Planting a new tree in the same spot would require a full stump excavation. We recommend planting the tree slightly away from the original stump to avoid expensive stump removal costs.

Our standard process doesn’t include using chemicals, but we can in certain situations. We use an herbicide chemical called Tordon on the flush cut stump 3 days before the grinding to prevent unwanted growth. This is typical when grinding aspen trees, elm trees, box elder trees, or any other tree that causes shoots to come up from the grass. Chemical usage incurs a $50 fee.

We need at least a 36 inch gate to get our stump grinder into your backyard. Any opening smaller will require us to take the fence apart, which will incur an additional fee based on the fence material.

Stump grinding is non-invasive. Once the stump is grinded away, the roots will slowly decay into the soil. If you want to expedite the decomposition of the roots, you may use a herbicide chemical to do so.
